About Myself

Gree- to the -tings

Hey guys, it's me. And this is my website. I made this website, because I had an idea. And I'd like to implement said idea. However, before I describe this idea, here's a brief background.

My Ongoing Love Affair with DDR

According to a VCR tape (it's in my living room somewhere), I discovered the rhythm-based game Dance Dance Revolution on 06/30/2002. I was... a young age.

My fambam and I were in Great America. After munching on some Dippin' Dots, I walked inside an arcade and laid eyes on a DDR cabinet. I played, people were impressed, I enjoyed it, and the rest is [what they say,] history.

About Dance Dance Revolution (DDR)

What is DDR??

DDR is a music game in which you use a peripheral pad to step on arrows that correspond with the arrows that appear on screen. The more accurate you step on the arrows, the higher your score accumulates. Any missteps will deplete the dance gauge; when empty, the stage ends prematurely.

Each game/version has its own unique song list, and each song has its own predetermined set of arrows. These songs have up to five difficulties to choose from: Beginner, Basic, Difficult, Expert, and Challenge. Each difficulty is rated on a scale of 1-19 (or 1-10 in the earlier games).

About the Groove Radar

An Underrated Function in the DDR Series

The Groove Radar is a feature in the game that summarizes the key elements of each song's respective step charts. Its unique pentagonal shape depicts the overall difficulty of a song chart.

Stream represents the overall density in the chart.

Chaos represents the value of total offbeat arrows/notes.

Freeze represents the value of total freeze arrows.

Air represents the value of total jumps (and shock arrows).

Voltage represents the peak density in the chart.
